Great blog!

Think about what's happening with "country cooking" in France, or with the resurgence of farmer's markets in neighborhoods around the country -- people are reinventing their relationship with food, and we're getting smarter about what goes into the food, where it comes from, and how it's delivered to us:

Good move by Target. I found a number of flavors all on sale this week, so I bought a few. I used one in baking and it held up well - smooth and flavorful. While not up there with the top premium chocolate, at the price point offered they should be well received.

Surely a company can't say on its packaging that it contains 0 trans fats, and then have trans fats in them. Now, there's no disputing that mono diglycerides are a trans fat, but this must mean that the amount is negligible within the serving size and that for this purpose, it amounts to zero legally and nutritionally speaking. It's the 15th listed ingredient. It begs more investigation, but I'd be more worried about the dextrose and fructose, which are higher up on the ingredient list, and are key suspects in the obesity epidemic.

These are snacks, and they are TERRIFICLY TASTY, so moderation is the key. They are probably better for you than a fast-food burger, but a health food, they are not.

Hi -- I just found your blog and it's so interesting to me! I've been in PR for a while and am getting my masters in gastronomy to satiate my inner food lover. I also contemplated attending the culinary school in SF while I was living there but couldn't get over the insane cost! I look forward to reading your blog!
