I’ve been MIA…but I’m back
February 3, 2007 by Jeff Davis
It’s embarassing to admit how long I’ve been away from my blog. The holidays, a cross-country move from San Francisco to Atlanta at the end of December, and then producing our Food Fete event in San Francisco seriously impacted my workload.
Our San Francisco Food Fete event on Jan. 22 was very well-received by the exhibitors and nearly 40 media who attended. In terms of the overall vibe, I believe it was our best yet. With many thanks to our wine and spirits sponsors including Grey Goose Vodka (thanks for providing the cool ice sculpture!), Ponzi Vineyards, Willamette Vineyards and Ravenwood Winery, everyone was relaxed and ready to enjoy some great food and conversation. Several journalists commented to me it was the best mix of companies to date.
You can read Travel Oregon’s own impression of the event in its recent blog post. This was the first time we ever had a tourism organization participate in Food Fete to promote itself as culinary destination, and I must say that the media really seemed to latch on to the concept.
I’ll also be commenting on several new products I saw at the Winter Fancy Food Show, which took place during the same timeframe as Food Fete.
